May 22-24

Only 3 more days of school! Please remember that both Tuesday and Wednesday are early release days.  Monday is our last full day of school. Students are to bring their backpacks both Monday and Tuesday, but not on Wednesday. We will be doing a soft clean out of our desks Monday and a full on clean out on Tuesday (students can bring in just a bag Tuesday if they prefer, otherwise everything will go in their backpacks). Report cards will be sent home via mail the following week. If you have any additional questions or concerns, I will be checking my email until Friday, May 26th. After that I will begin my summer vacation!

I can't express enough how much I have enjoyed this year. It has been filled with firsts that I will never forget. I hope everyone is looking forward to a fun, relaxing, and safe summer!

March 27-31 - Book Fair Week!!!

What is your child learning this week?
This week during Math we will wrap up our mini unit on telling time. Students will be expected to tell time to the hour and half hour. In Social Studies we will finish folktales by reviewing our final person, Paul Bunyan. In Science we will continue to learn about plants. In Language Arts we will begin to review narrative writing, as this is the first type of writing we will complete when we come back from the break. As a reminder, students will be expected to complete all three types of writing for their quarter 4 report card (narrative, informative, opinion). During our reading time I will continue to pull reading groups. We will be focusing on increasing reading level through cloze reading passages and comprehension questions. If your child received a reading level below a G for quarter 3, please be diligent to have them read every night. We work very hard in class, but without home support it makes it more challenging for students to progress in their reading. Thank you for all you do!
